Accountants may be interested to learn that some of HMRC’s webinars can now be accessed on demand.
The webinars in question are online tax-help presentations that were previously offered at set times and dates. Among the topics covered are an overview of limited companies, business expenses and capital allowances, how VAT works and the first steps employers need to take when they set up their business.
Colin Ford who is heading the on-demand project explained the webinars will enable business owners and self-employed individuals to access the information they need in an interesting format 24/7.
Tax can be a daunting subject, especially when somebody is just starting out in business. HMRC wants to make tax hassle-free and the webinars are one of doing it. The online library will complement the information that already exists on both the Revenue and Business Link websites.
Each presentation lasts about 30 minutes and can be viewed on PCs with an operating system of Microsoft Windows XP or later, or Mac OS® X 10.4.11 or newer.
The Revenue also has a YouTube channel that provides advice on tax matters and you can direct questions via its Twitter account.
